Notes:
The German system had no equivalent of brigadier general; hence its titles are named similarly to the English rank one level higher.
The British system had Field Marshal as a fifth general officer rank, not used in EUWOL.
Marechal is not a military rank in France, but a title of honor, one normally given only to high-ranking generals.
Some nations used the naval rank of Commodore, others proceeded directly to admiral ranks and created a fourth admiral rank to replace Commodore.
